Homemaking

There’s something to be said for homemakers. I grew up with a mother who was an expert homemaker (I think this is where I would insert a shoutout, if I were a shoutout kind of girl), and watching her take the best care of us that she could planted in my heart the desire to have my own home, husband, and family to look after someday. I certainly always dreamt of being the perfect wife and mother, and as a recent newlywed, I now have an opportunity to try and make those dreams a reality. At least the wife part. The mother part will come a little later, I think…

Now, I’m under no illusion that a “perfect” wife is something that even exists, but I also firmly believe that we can become nearer to perfection than we might think is possible. As I try my hardest to simply be my best, to take the best care of my husband and our home as possible, I can truly feel God helping me to learn how to run a home. I feel Him showing me just how vital good women and diligent homemakers are, and His presence is in our home more constantly.
